What to Expect in a Metafit Class?
Metafit classes are 30 minute sessions that use bodyweight only strength, plyometric and core exercises aimed at working the large muscle groups in the body. An audio command along with soundtrack is used throughout the class guiding participants through the set of simple yet effective exercises to deliver a whole body workout. Our qualified Metafit coach leads the sessions ensuring proper technique, form and intensity is maintained.
Why is HIIT Effective?
A study was carried out in 1996 by Japanese scientist Izumi Tabata to compare the results of high intensity training to medium intensity training. It was found that not only did high intensity training result in as good or better cardio fitness, but significant anaerobic capacity or muscle growth was achieved through high intensity training over medium intensity training.
It is estimated that our Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) account for up to ¾ of the calories we burn. High Intensity Interval Training uses periods of maximum exertion along with incomplete rest periods to help build lean muscle mass and improve your bodies Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) which increases your fat burning potential.
