Mums and Bubs Fitness with Babysitter a Big Hit
This week was the first week of running our Mums and Bubs group fitness sessions with a babysitter for child care at Johnson Park, Dulwich Hill in Sydney’s Inner West. Interest in our mums and bubs sessions continues to grow and it’s lovely to see the babies and toddlers come along and interact with each other while mum works hard on getting fit. At times though the interruptions of children can often mean mum doesn’t get the most out of the session. As a mother, it is also my experience that I get a far better workout when uninterrupted, plus I come away from the session feeling like I have got some quality ‘me time’ in.
This was the motivation for me to trial getting in a babysitter for our mums and bubs sessions.
Our new babysitter Jenn is a mother of 4 and has all the appropriate checks. Jenn was really keen to come on board when approached about the position and genuinely enjoys being around the children.
It was fantastic to see the mums getting in a full workout while the kids were kept entertained with games and monitored playtime. The feedback from the mums and children who attended this week’s sessions was overwhelming positive. The mums loved the uninterrupted exercise and came away from the session feeling like they had got a decent workout in while feeling far more relaxed by not having to constantly keep an eye out for the children.
At this stage Jenn will be at those sessions when available and I’ll attempt to find a substitute if she is unable to attend.
